갤러리연(관장 이연순)이 주관한 임봉재 소품전이 4월 21일부터 개최된다.
대전지역 미술계의 스승인 임봉재 선생은 초대 시립미술관장을 역임하는 등 대전문화예술계의 큰 산이 되어 후배들을 품어 주었다.
임봉재 선생은 구순의 나이에도 “화면은 항상 긴장한다. 짜임새 있는 구성, 변화 있는 공간으로 구성하여야 하기에, 그리고 나의 화풍으로 그려야한다. 나만이 그릴 수 있는 화풍으로 그려야 한다. 그리고 아류에 흐르지 않고 새로운 세계에 도전하여야 한다"고 강조했다.
중구문화원 관계자는 ”임봉재 선생의 작품은 예나 지금이나 자연으로부터 출발한다. 조그마한 캔버스 앞에 마주한 노작가가 거대한 우주의 단편을 표현한 순수한 언어들이 아픈 시대를 살아가는 사람들에게 치유의 멜로디가 되길 바란다“고 말했다.
서양화가 임봉재 선생은 1933년 충북 옥천 출생으로 서울대학교 미술대학 회화과 중퇴, 개인전(18회)과 대전시립미술관 개관기념전, MBC금강미술대전 특별기획전, 이동훈미술상 수상작가전 등 단체전 다수 출품했으며 대통령표창, 한국 미술협회 창립 20주년 기념전 금상 등을 수상한 바 있다.
임봉재 소품전은 4월 21일부터 27일까지 대전중구문화원 2전시실에서 관람 할 수 있다.
